'T' House, Crouch End
Remodelling of a three-storey townhouse, to include a new roof terrace and a modest side extension.
The objective of the project was to improve the quality of spaces within this already generous sized house, rather than to significantly increase floor area.
A small side infill extension to the rear of the ground floor was designed to ‘unlock’ the proportions of adjacent spaces, creating a layout which feels more generous than the sum of its parts.
The form of the extension was designed to maintain privacy between neighbours while dropping natural light into the new kitchen.
At terrace level a disused chimney stack was reappropriated as a fitted BBQ. A bespoke balustrade of angled fins helps to maintain privacy between neighbours while promoting long views to Alexandra Palace in the distance.
